Description
During mating season, large wading shore birds flock to favored rookeries to mate and nest. At this rookery in northern Florida, there were hundreds of birds mating, including quite a few different species. This image of a wood stork (left) and great white egret (right) illustrates a brief quiet between the often sparring birds - fighting for nesting space and twig materials. It is a unique treat to see these shore birds high up in rookery trees. Its also a delight to observe their unique mating rituals and watch their babies at various stages of growth. This image was taken at a rookery in northern Florida, USA

Thanks so much William. Shooting at this massive very active rookery was a real treat.
