Description
Image of a pineapple grown on my Florida lanai. This is how a pineapple that ends up on your table begins. For months I watched the leaves lengthen and multiply. For what seemed like a very long while, no change. Then one day I noticed the center where the leaves all emanate from changing color. Yellow at first. Then a few days later, a quarter sized nubbly bud appeared in the middle. After about 1-2 weeks, it looked like this! I had never seen a pineapple grow before, so each week was a revelation of changes. Until one day - we ate it!
