I was poking aorund the area north of Grand Canyon North Rim and discovered Johnson Valley in the Grand Staircase Escalante region. I read that the old Gunsmoke Movie Set was moldering somewhere in the area and was lucky enough to find it. I half expected to see gravestoens for Kitty the saloonkeeper (Amanda Blake) and Marshall Dillon (James Arness), Doc Adams (Miburn Stone), and Chester (Dennis Weaver). No wonder this popular western TV show seemed so real...the place existed.
