Description
Im not sure a shrub and flowering body can get any more exotic than the flowers in the Heliconia genus, This is the flowering body of Heliconia rostrata - it truly looks like a brilliantly colored lobster claw, This species is native to Colombia, Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia, but is also found growing introduced into in southern Florida, USA where I live.
