A sunny day provided an opportunity to take some 'dark glass' shots of the surf along the Outer Banks, otherwise referred to as OBX locally. Dark Glass is the use of a neutral density filter that is so dark the camera cannot determine the exposure through the lens, so it has to be determined manually. This results in opening the shutter to the light for a long time - which in turn makes the surf look filmy as you see in the image.

The power of light - often juxtaposed with the lack of it in the shadows, is what permits any photographer to share his or her unique perspective of the world.
