Artist's Description

Rocky Mt National Park Alpine Ridge Trail. This is a view of a storm front approaching from the east late in the day. The views are 360 degrees spectacular - giving one as sense of being at the top of the world and just about able to reach up and touch heaven. The rock formations at the top have eerie shapes - some looking like large petrified mushrooms from outer space. The Alpine Ridge Trail in Rocky Mountain National Park begins from the far end of the parking area for the Alpine Visitor Center atop Trail Ridge Road. Although a very short hike, the trail is fairly steep, gaining more than 200 feet in just three-tenths of a mile. Combine this with being situated at an elevation of 12,000 feet and it's no wonder that it's earned the nickname of "Huffers Hill". The entire route travels across alpine tundra. As someone who has lived pretty much at sea level all my adult life, I certainly huffed my way up, but was so very glad I made the effort

Stories and moments captured through a lens. I share what impacts me, delights me, disturbs me. I specialize in land / waterscape, macro, black and white, architectural, and minimalist photography. It's difficult to explain why I find capturing the world around me so addictive - a rushing mountain waterfall surrounded by the brilliant colors of fall, the incredible microscopic beauty of a flower center, the graphic simplicity of an architectural element, the distorted reflection of one skyscraper in the windows of another, a violent purple sky traced by lightning are all part...
