I was staying in a quaint lovely hotel on the mountainside facing this cliff side of houses. They seem to cling to the hillside; its astounding to me that they don't just tumble into the sea. I marvel at what it must take to build these structures in the first place. Positano is an iconic seaside village with the village church or duomo ( seen in the lower right) as the center of the village life, and thus prominently placed so it can be seen by every house on the hillside as well as from the sea. I took this image with an old camera, handheld while lying on my bed - through the open French doors that led to my patio - a dream evening!
