Shapes, light, repetition and texture are what photography is all about. In addition to capturing, suggesting or creating a mood or story. Maybe its because I was standing in the footfalls of pioneers - sturdy folk who were self-reliant - that this still life called me to share its story. One of several original pieces of farm equipment utilized by the folk who lived and died in Cade's Cove area of Smoky Mountain National Park in Tennessee, USA.

The power of light - often juxtaposed with the lack of it in the shadows, is what permits any photographer to share his or her unique perspective of the world.
