Description
Heriot Bay lies at the western side of Quadra Island. Quadra sits at the top of the Georgia Strait which separates mainland British Columbia from Vancouver Island. The views from the island are spectacular, with the snow covered mountains on the mainland easily seen in the distance. The narrow beaches are strewn with bleached dritwood of all sizes . Heriot Bay has been a port since the ealry logging days, and is still one of only two ways to get to the island - both via British Columbia Ferry system - one from Campbell River on Vancouver Island and the other from Cortes Island east of Quadra. The historic and lovely Heriot Bay Inn is situated right at the harbor where guests can hop off the ferry, get a room and have a wonderful dinner on the large deck overloking the harbor. A superb vacation spot!
